The World Taekwondo Inspection Mission Received by the Prime Minister of Côte d'Ivoire

On Thursday, 07 September, at 6.30 pm after the meeting with the Minister of Sports and Recreation, the Prime Minister of Côte d'Ivoire granted an audience to the World Taekwondo Inspection Mission to Abidjan to inquire about the progress of preparations for the Grand Prix Final and the Taekwondo World Cup scheduled for early December 2017 in Abidjan.

The Mission led by Mr IDE ISSAKA (First Vice President of World Taekwondo Africa, Member of the Executive Board of World Taekwondo, President of the National Olympic Committee of Niger) was composed of Grand Master Philippe BOUEDO Black Belt 7th Dan Kukkiwon (Technical Director of Competitions organized by the World Taekwondo Technical Director of the Olympic Games in London and Rio for Taekwondo) and Mr Corbin MIN Director of Legal Affairs and World Taekwondo Relations with Taekwondo National Federations.

The delegation went away very happy and reassured, following the talks, of the firm commitment of the Prime Minister to accompany the organization of these events of worldwide scope to ensure their success.

Mr. IDE Issaka carried an important message of the profound gratitude and admiration of the World Taekwondo to His Excellency Mr. Alassane OUATTARA, President of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire; written message that he handed to the Prime Minister.

It is important to mention that the delegation took advantage of this hearing to hand over to the Prime Minister the decision of World Taekwondo regarding the conflict between the National Olympic Committee and the Ivorian Taekwondo Federation; a decision which was notified and handed to the President of the National Olympic Committee of Côte d'Ivoire the day before.
